- Account data: name, email address, and authentication details.
- Financial records you enter: transactions, categories, amounts, currencies, and notes.
- Receipt images (optional): when you choose to scan a receipt, we process the image to extract structured data.
- Usage data: app interactions, feature usage, and basic diagnostic data to improve reliability.
2. How we use your data
We use your information to:
- Provide core features like expense tracking, reports, and account management.
- Improve accuracy and performance of the product and customer support.
- Prevent abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
- Process subscription billing and manage plan entitlements.
3. Third-party services
SplitXO relies on third-party services to operate. We only share the minimum data needed to provide the relevant feature.
- Stripe (payments): used to process subscriptions and manage billing. Stripe may receive identifiers necessary to complete payment processing.
- Google Gemini (OCR): used to extract merchant, amount, date, and category from receipt images you choose to scan. Receipt images and related prompts may be sent to Gemini to generate the extracted result.
4. Data retention
We retain account and transaction data for as long as your account is active so the app can function. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, unless we must retain certain information to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
5. Your rights and choices
You can:
- Access and update your account information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Stop using receipt scanning at any time (it is optional).

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Children’s privacy
SplitXO is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required by your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
